The Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders continues to toggle back and forth with Dallas on being the fifth or sixth largest association in the nation. This is so impressive considering that Birmingham is certainly not the fifth or sixth largest metropolitan area in the nation.
The Membership Committee works hard to recruit new members to the association and strives to make new members feel welcomed to GBAHB with all of the information they need to know. By hosting a new member orientation before each General Membership Meeting, new members are provided with packets full of information to answer any questions, or provide testimonials as to why they are long term members of the association.
The committee also supports the Spike program, and encourages fellow members to help GBAHB grow. Those who recruit a certain number of members are then eligible for the elite Spike Club Membership. Spike credits are earned by recruiting and retaining members. NAHB and GBAHB recognizes and rewards members in the Spike Club.
The Membership Committee is an excellent opportunity for you to get involved and serve the GBAHB. Does your job require you to call upon businesses within the home building industry? Simply drop off a GBAHB membership application to someone who is not a member and encourage them to join. Each year, the GBAHB produces a Membership Directory that lists all current members up until the preceeding November. Directories are generally mailed in February of each year. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the directory, keep it in your car and try to capture anyone who isn't currently a member. As our numbers grow, our industry prospers.
