Muddy Boots-Builder Education Program

2008 Builder Education Chair
Clay Harbin of Parksite

The Muddy Boots program was originally founded by GBAHB, and is an educational outlet for builder members. Builder members have enjoyed the success of this program in previous years, and GBAHB felt that it was time for it to make its come back.

The purpose of Muddy Boots is to provide timely topics that can be presented by professionals so that our builder members may be assisted with issues they are most concerned with in the home building industry. These are changes that greatly impact their livelihood. Topics such as OSHA regulations, job site safety, construction code issues and politics will be covered at the meetings, as well as professional assistance on how to manage a business. Builder and remodeler members, specifically new members, can gain an extensive amount of knowledge about the construction industry by attending these meetings and networking with fellow builders even though CEU credit does not apply.

The meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month with the exception of June and July at the Alagasco Southern Operations Center located in Pelham. It is convenient to I-65 and only a short distance from I-459. The facility is located behind the Cracker Barrel on Highway 119. These meetings will begin at 7:30 a.m. and breakfast will be included. The meetings are designed to last approximately one hour and the builder can be on his job site by 8:30 a.m. Of course, presenters will stay as long as they are needed to answer additional questions.

A special thank you goes to Compass Bank for sponsoring breakfast at these meetings in 2008. So...whether your boots are muddy or not, all builders and remodelers are welcome to attend these very informative sessions. For more information, please contact Mary James at 912-7000. Watch your BluePrint, or visit this page of the website for the most current listing of topics and dates.
